In a significant step towards environmental conservation, the Department of Zoology, Krishnagar Government College, in collaboration with the Forest Department, received 1,000 tree saplings under a green initiative aimed at restoring and enriching the campus ecosystem.
What began as an ambitious request—"We need 1,000 green lives"—was warmly fulfilled through the generous support of the Forest Department. We express our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Debashis Biswas, Ranger (Nadia–Murshidabad Division), and the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) for their encouragement and unwavering commitment to environmental conservation. This initiative reflects the strong partnership between the Forest Department and our institution in promoting sustainable development.
Receiving these saplings is not the end of our mission—it is the beginning of a long-term responsibility. Every member of the KGC family has pledged to nurture and protect these young trees so that they grow into a thriving green heritage for future generations. Through this plantation drive, we reaffirm our commitment to biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and the restoration of healthy ecosystems.
