Guided by the motto, "Conservation and Restoration of Ecosystem for Sustainable Tomorrow," the Nature Club of the Department of Zoology, Krishnagar Government College is dedicated to fostering environmental awareness, scientific curiosity, and a deep sense of responsibility towards nature. The club encourages students to understand, appreciate, and protect the natural world through experiential learning, field-based activities, and community engagement. By organizing nature walks, biodiversity surveys, study tours, environmental awareness campaigns, workshops, seminars, competitions, plantation drives, and conservation initiatives, the club provides students with opportunities to develop practical skills and environmental ethics. Our mission is to inspire young minds to become responsible citizens who actively contribute to the conservation, restoration, and sustainable management of ecosystems, ensuring a healthier and greener future for generations to come.
NERTHUS is the official student magazine of the Nature Club, Department of Zoology, Krishnagar Government College. It serves as a vibrant platform where students showcase their creativity, scientific knowledge, and passion for nature through articles, research notes, field experiences, wildlife observations, environmental awareness stories, photography, artwork, and conservation initiatives. It gives me immense pleasure to share my message on the release of 3rd volume of our departmental magazine ‘Nerthus’. To justify the theme of the e-magazine, this time our students have crafted this issue with a number of articles considering the current problems and threats of mother earth and sustainable modern approach of solutions to these.. I appreciate the efforts of young minds for making this journey possible. I also thank the reviewers and faculties of this department. May our department keep publishing many more volume to encourage the students for honing their skill beyond their syllabus. I hope you enjoy the reading of our magazine.
Welcome to the Second issue of ‘Nerthus’, an e- magazine published by Post Graduate Department of Zoology, Krishnagar Govt College. This volume is dedicated to Biodiversity, Conservation, Climate Change and Sustainability. We received almost 70 articles .We encourage more practice-based articles, state-of-the-art content and critical review articles for our subsequent issues. This will help us in scoring high in performance measures in future and moving up the magazine in ranking lists. We will also change the cover page of the magazine time to time to reflect the changes in thrust area. We have the dedication and the passion poured out into this magazine. Our articles are penned and edited carefully. It is a golden opportunity for all of us to be allowed to be a part of this great endeavour.
